Glass Cast Vessels process using the hollow core method with wax
Very much so a process-based exploration, my resulting glass vessels are an example of the combining of two materials: wood and glass. Starting out with an imagined series of symmetrical forms, I turned to the lathe and made them out of wood. Taking the wooden forms off the lathe, I then went through the multi-step glass kiln casting process to make the actual glass vessels. After a bit of coldworking and rudimentary finishing, we are left with the assorted turquoise cups.
